I want to share the latest book which I have just finished yesterday with you guys.

Book: Thanks For The Memories by Cecelia Ahern

My rating: *** (means I liked it but not crazy about it)

I would recommend this book: To anyone who likes chick-lit novels, humorous dialogues

Having read Where Rainbows End I was in bit of a quandary about Thanks For the Memories. I mean I enjoy Cecelia Ahern’s writing, her stories are hilarious but I always find myself want to read more about the romance part which in this case Joyce and Justin’s relationship part instead of reading Joyce and her father’s or Conor’s etc.

Anyway, the first thing that pulled me to this book was absolutely its cover design, it was so cute that I had to own it! And the summary at the back of the book was at first confusing to me but seemed promising.

When I started reading the story the plot didn’t convince me at all, I wanted to find some logic in all the goings on and I was on the verge of losing interest until I decided to go along with the story. I guess I prefer more realistic romance stories. One more thing, I didn’t feel any chemistry between Joyce and Justin, one questions “Would they still want to pursue each other if this whole blood transfusion thing didn’t happen?”

Nevertheless I’m really curious about the whole blood transfusion thing, I mean what really happens when someone got someone else’s blood?

I didn’t love the book rather liked it. It was fun and has a happy ending. Despite my negative comments I would still want to check this book out. If you want a quick read and have fun then it’s the book for you.

Yeah, that’s me! I’ve been so busy recently designing a logo, a business card, a brochure (design pending), a catalog (also pending), etc. for a wellness company. Fortunately they loved my work and I guess all the effort I put in this work paid off! I mean my eyes were burning working with all those neon colors. Apart from this, I think my bottom took the shape of my seat thanks to my non-stop working. I’ll be back with the developments! No the photo doesn’t show my work, it’s just a random image I picked on my way here

Weekend Splurge!

This week me and my sister were invitees to the Bobbi Brown make-up lessons at Harvey Nichols so on Saturday we headed to Kanyon for our beauty treat. There were two cutiepie beauty experts at the Bobbi Brown stand waiting for us. While they were doing our make up they also explained the reasons to each product they used on our skin, expanding our knowledge abit more about how to make the skin look smooth and natural. I was so contented with the result that I immediately hurled myself to a more affordable beauty store, getting my hands on a blush, an eyeshadow to make perfect smokey eyes and a white eyeliner which makes the eyes shimmer like stars!

After this you think the fire of the shopping fiend inside me would die down a bit but you are wrong, oh so wrong! Next thing I know, I found myself in a perfumery shop sticking my nose to the heavenly scent of Light Blue, the fragrance which you already knew from my previous post. No need to say the blue capped, frosted glassed bottle of a 100 ml Light Blue took its highly anticipated place safely among the other purchased items. Sighing happily I exited the shop and dropped by a book store and grabbed a weekly magazine that contains pages and pages of D&G’s after Cannes party crowded with sparkling celebrities. I was really curious about this party because the photos and news of it were everywhere on nearly every fashion website and blog that I follow. God, I wanted to be there among them swinging my arms in the air with the beat of the up tempo music capturing the magical night. Rubbing elbows with gorgeous models… Why not this dream could one day become a reality? All I need is a determined mind and the rest would come along…

Current Obsession

With the coming of hot summer days I was in search of a fragrance which wasn’t overpowering because I just can’t bear it if the scent I wear begins suffocating me. This feeling especially happens when I’m in a car on a sunny day. Anyway, I knew about Dolce & Gabbana’s Light Blue but I never gave it a chance because after I tried it on, it evaporated in a matter of seconds. Years passed and finally the time has come for me to give it another chance. I will go ahead and also admit that the reason for my interest for this fragrance is pretty much influenced by its fascinating video commercial. Oops… You’ve just listened the little mischievous girl inside me, haha! Returning to my point, I have to say it’s no wonder Light Blue is a bestseller, it smells so soft and sweet yet it also gives a feeling of sophistication. In my dictionary I can simply describe it with one word: Yummy!

My sweet friend Nikita suggested to have breakfast at this lovely restaurant alongside the Bosphorus. It was chilly and the sky was overcast but the place was amazingly beautiful.
However the menu was a little bit frustrating, I was expecting there would be a breakfast menu like a plate which includes the essential breakfast foods – cheese, olives, eggs, jam, etc. – but there was nothing like that on the menu. Instead, they were all listed as one item so that you can choose the ones you want. Sounds clever but this way it becomes more expensive. If you don’t mind, then no problem!
Anyway, other than the menu the dishes were delicious. I had fried eggs, simit and tea and apart from our personal selections we ordered cheese and olive plate and honey & butter for all of us to share.
My charismatic sister took lots of photos with her charismatic camera. All in all the brunch experience was a success!

Love And Other Disasters

Can someone fall in love with a movie? Obviously I can!

This movie totally captured my heart because:
* It’s about true love and how people have their own misconceptions about it
* It takes place in beautiful London
* It includes a handsome Argentine hunk who knows how to tango!

Ahh the messages were so parallel with my own thoughts about true love that at some point I thought I was watching myself in Peter’s character. I won’t give away any details, but points are taken on my part and I hope I could apply them to my life!

You should watch and tell me what do you think.

What Am I Doing?

I know I know, I haven’t been paying attention here as much as I wanted to. Lately, I’m immersed in reading and following Goodreads.
Other than that, I was busy with trying to take my package from the customs house. Yeah, you read it right and it was an awful experience. Apparently customs house retained my package just because it was over 100 euros. That was b******t! My friends always buys tons of stuff and they never had any problem. I was furious because I paid an outrageous sum in order to get my package, had I know that I would be paying that much I would have just stay at home and extend my legs on the couch and do nothing – or continue my reading actually!
Anyways, AstroTwins will be my compensation for my long time absence. Hope you enjoy!

Vacation All I Ever Wanted…

Lately I found myself yearning for a vacation. Really, I can actually feel the need in my pores, and I have already a place on my mind: Mykonos – one of the islands of Greece.
It would be so great to be away from all the daily worries and feel the sunburns on my skin, the smell of the coconut sun lotion, wearing a flyaway sun dress and cute platform shoes… Hope I can go someday…

Blue Eyed Devil

After reading Lisa’s spectacular Sugar Daddy, I jumped right to Blue Eyed Devil. I read it couple of weeks ago but haven’t got the chance to share my opinion.
The story is focused on domestic violence and how our heroine Haven recovers from the abuse.
I don’t know… I actually rooted for Hardy in the first part of the Sugar Daddy but my adoration exponentially decayed with the unfortunate behaviors of Hardy in the end. So I was just waiting and waiting for Hardy to steal my heart again in Blue Eyed Devil, but it didn’t happen and I found myself wishing for men who are more like Gage Travis.
On the other hand I have to hand it to Lisa Kleypas that she had accomplished another well written, flowing story. The fact that I didn’t find Hardy to my like doesn’t change the fact that this is a book you shouldn’t miss out. I don’t have to fall in love with every hero of romance books after all, right? And this fact alone made me appreciate more of Lisa’s ability to form her characters in a realistic way.
To sum it all up I think Hardy and Haven made a perfect couple in the end, you definitely feel that they are made for each other.
